Vidi the Vinci, not vinci.

Finally a chance to read The Da Vinci Code. The immediate plot is appealing, but the the theological and historical themes are weak compared to Ecco’s Pendulum, and have collapsed under the critiques (a catholic critique, a protestant critique).

One unaddressed weakness of Brown’s argument is the Roman Catholic Church’s alleged suppression of goddess worship. Yet an equally successful book could be written (probably has been) about how the Church is fostering goddess worship – with Mary the mother of Jesus at its center. Brown conveniently left Mary out of the plot…
